LinkedIn headshot photographer in St Albans
Your LinkedIn photo is often your first professional impression.
Before someone reads your job title or experience, they’ve already decided whether you look credible, capable and worth engaging with.
Most people either have a photo that doesn’t reflect who they are now, or they’ve been meaning to get a new one for longer than they’d like to admit.
I work with corporate professionals, consultants, founders and senior leaders across St Albans, Hertfordshire and London – people who want a headshot that genuinely represents them.
What’s a LinkedIn headshot?
A LinkedIn headshot is not a casual portrait. Think of it as your professional handshake – except it works while you’re asleep.
It’s a strategically designed image that works at small scale, on mobile devices and in a professional context.
It should:
Communicate confidence
Feel natural, not stiff
Align with your industry
Reflect your personal brand
Hold attention in a crowded feed
These portraits are clean, contemporary and intentionally simple. Everything stripped back so what comes through is entirely you.
Who’s this for
This service is ideal for:
Corporate professionals
Senior managers and executives
Consultants
Founders and entrepreneurs
Professionals preparing for a new role
If your LinkedIn profile plays a role in how you’re found, first impressions matter. This session is built for that.
Most people arrive a bit apprehensive. They leave with photos they're actually proud of.
What clients say…
“I’ve had my portrait taken by Mike several times now and the results have been consistently excellent.
He has a great eye, makes the whole session feel easy and enjoyable, and always delivers something I’m genuinely proud to use.
If you need a photographer who’s both talented and fun to work with, Mike’s your man.”

Yes. Your final images can be used across LinkedIn, company websites, email signatures and professional marketing materials.

It's a relaxed, private space – nothing clinical or intimidating, or I can come to your office or a location of your choice. Just mention your preference when you get in touch and I'll make it work.

Yes. Standard retouching is included. This covers colour correction, exposure and light skin tidying. If you need more detailed retouching, I can quote for that separately.

Most people feel the same. I keep the session relaxed and guide you throughout. The aim is to help you feel comfortable so your portrait looks natural, confident and true to you.

A LinkedIn headshot is designed to work at a very small size – typically a circle roughly 400 pixels across on a mobile screen. That means the framing is tighter, the background simpler, and the expression needs to read clearly at thumbnail scale. A standard business portrait has more room to breathe – wider framing, environmental context, more variety of composition. A LinkedIn headshot has one job: make someone stop scrolling and decide you look worth speaking to.
-
Yes. While most sessions take place at my home studio in St Albans, I can come to your office or workplace anywhere across Hertfordshire – including Harpenden, Hemel Hempstead, Watford, Hertford and surrounding areas. Shooting on location can work well if your workspace reflects your professional environment and you'd prefer your colleagues or team to be photographed at the same time. Travel within five miles of St Albans is included; a small travel charge applies beyond that.
-
A good rule of thumb is every two to three years, or sooner if your appearance has changed noticeably, you've changed sector or seniority level, or your current photo was taken on a phone. Your LinkedIn photo is often the first thing a potential client, recruiter or collaborator sees before they've read a single word of your profile. If it no longer looks like you, or no longer reflects the level you operate at, it's working against you.

A LinkedIn headshot session with me starts at £195, which includes a 45-minute guided session, two professionally retouched images, and delivery within three working days. Additional retouched images are available at £35 each, and a 48-hour express delivery option is available for £25. If you need a broader set of images for your website or marketing as well, a personal branding session from £495 is likely better value.
