Well, hello there, I’m Mike!

I’m a photographer based in St Albans, Hertfordshire, working with clients across the UK. My specialities include corporate and commercial, personal branding, events and Family photography.

Creativity has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Back in secondary school, I knew I wanted a career in the creative world. Photography runs deep in my family – my granddad was a photographer, and so were my dad and three of his brothers. My grandma, an accomplished painter and illustrator who attended the Glasgow School of Art, also passed down her artistic flair. It’s safe to say creativity is in my blood!

I started my journey in graphic design, studying it in college and building a career in that field for many years. Photography was initially just a hobby, but the early 2000s brought the rise of digital cameras, sparking my passion for the craft. In 2006, I bought my first DSLR, and that was the beginning of my full embrace of photography and the incredible creative possibilities it offers.

My friendly and collaborative approach helps me quickly connect with people, putting them at ease for their photography sessions. Over the years, I’ve photographed musicians, artists, sports stars, fund managers, CEOs, directors, office teams, and just about everyone in between. Some people love being in front of the camera, while others need a little extra guidance and encouragement, and I’m here to make the experience enjoyable for everyone.

I aim to make every project unique, reflecting the individuality of the people and businesses I work with. My work has been featured in books, magazines, global advertising campaigns, newspapers, and across social media.

When I’m not behind the camera for work, I’m often indulging my love for travel photography. I’ve had the privilege of exploring some incredible places around the world. From circumnavigating the globe on a yacht to cruising the Caribbean, crossing Canada by train, and experiencing the northern and southern lights, my adventures have taken me far and wide. Along the way, I’ve captured stunning landscapes, vibrant cultures, and unforgettable moments.

At home, I turn these travel memories into photobooks, a tradition I’ve maintained with 15 volumes (and counting) that sit proudly on my bookshelf. These books are more than just photos; they’re stories and cherished memories brought to life, much better than being forgotten on a hard drive.

Outside of photography, you’ll often find me on family adventures, trailing behind my wife and son, camera in hand, darting down alleyways to capture something that catches my eye.
